About Northeastern Pennsylvania Labor Management Council (NEPALMC) |

The Northeastern Pennsylvania Labor Management Council
is a non-profit membership organization dedicated to promoting economic retention
and development by encouraging labor management cooperation. The NEPALMC encourages
participation from business, labor, education, government and the community. Our
Mission is to be an effective neutral forum to foster and improve relations between
labor and management, resulting in a positive image, economic growth, and an improved
quality of life for all unions, companies and the communities we serve in Northeastern
Pennsylvania.
The NEPALMC offers a wide range of services to our members and the community on
issues that affect labor and management in the workplace. Membership services
include a quarterly newsletter, discounted rates for all workshops and
seminars, access to the expert consulting services of our Board of Directors
who represent labor, management, community and government agencies, and discounted
rates on our state of the art Employee Assistance
Program.

NE PA Safety Expo,

The Northeastern Pennsylvania Labor Management Council, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) the Northeast PA Chapter of the ASSE, the PA Department of Labor and Industry, the AFL-CIO, the Northeast Pennsylvania Manufacturers and Employers Association and Luzerne County Community College are pleased to announce the 2009 Northeastern Pennsylvania Safety and Health Expo. This event, the first of its kind in NE PA is a comprehensive one day conference that will be held at Luzerne County Community College in Nanticoke on May 20, 2009. PA Director of Homeland Security, James F. Powers Jr. is the Expo’s keynote speaker. Workshops will be offered in two tracks; one for employers/management and one for employees. Some of the workshops offered include the Legal Aspects of Workers Compensation, Erecting a Scaffold, NFPA 70E – Arc Flash Hazards, Workplace Safety Committee Certification, Drugs and Alcohol in the Workplace, Preparing for Confined Space Hazards, Ergonomics, and Blood Borne Pathogens. In addition to breakout sessions participants will have an opportunity during the day to visit exhibitors offering a wide variety of safety information.
